The present article argues for a conceptual distinction between corrective feedback and mediation that emphasizes the status of the latter not as an instructional practice but as a defining feature of human psychology (Vygotsky, 1987) that has direct implications for how instruction might be approached. This study explores the perceptions and practices of upper secondary school language teachers on differentiated assessment. The data were collected through a closed and open-ended questionnaire (n=48) and individual interviews with four teachers. The results show that the teachers used a variety of assessment methods, with a predominant emphasis on formative assessment. Although the teachers mentioned many differentiated assessment methods, they did not generally differentiate their assessments to a large extent. Partiendo del análisis de las deficiencias detectadas en la Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad actual, este artículo realiza un análisis de los factores incidentales externos al examen, propone un sistema moderno de evaluación de lenguas como la evaluación dinámica, y estudia las ventajas y desventajas de su aplicación a la Prueba Final de Bachillerato. Las propuestas aquí realizadas se relacionan con el proyecto OPENPAU (FFI2011-22442) de un consorcio de 8 universidades para la revisión de la Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad.

A number of studies have shown that learners’ beliefs about the usefulness of corrective feedback for improving their L2 (a second or a foreign language) use influences the extent to which learners can utilize that same feedback. It seems, then, that changing some of these beliefs could benefit the L2 learning process. The present dissertation examines the impact of (computerised) adaptive corrective feedback, that is, feedback dynamically adapting to learners’ abilities, in English as a second/foreign language (L2) and explores the ways to maximise this impact. The study was inspired by the sociocultural perspective on development, which had implications for the interpretation of the results, including those obtained through statistical data analyses. Dynamic assessment of word derivational knowledge: Tracing the development of a learner

The present paper reports on a case study that explored the applicability of dynamic assessment (DA) for promoting learners’ word derivational knowledge in English as a second or a foreign language (L2). One learner’s performance on tasks assessing his word derivational knowledge was measured four times. The first two measurements were conducted before and after three weekly human-mediated DA sessions and the last two, which took place a year and a half later, before and after three weekly computerised DA sessions. This article reports a qualitative study of cognitive assessments of three teenagers with sensory and multiple disabilities, including moderate to profound developmental disability. The aim was to evaluate the possibilities for adapting standardized tests and the implementation of interactional partnership in assessment. Cognitive assessments were made with an individually-adapted psychological assessment tool, the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development. Monipuolisen arvioinnin merkitys korostuu opetussuunnitelman perusteissa (Opetushallitus 2014, 2019) sekä perusopetus- (1998/628) ja lukiolaissa (2018/714). Toisin sanoen arvioinnin ei tule koostua pelkästään kokeista ja muista summatiivisen arvioinnin muodoista, vaan sen rinnalle tarvitaan oppimista tukevaa, formatiivista arviointia. Oppimista voidaan tukea esimerkiksi palautteen, itsearvioinnin ja vertaispalautteen avulla. Nämä tyypilliset formatiivisen arvioinnin välineet ja niiden implementointi opetukseen mainitaankin opetussuunnitelman perusteissa (Opetushallitus 2014, 2019).
